Johnson & Johnson, a company with a hundred year global history has been in Sri Lanka for over 40 years and has now been named the Number One unlisted brand in Sri Lanka in the 2013 edition of Brands Annual, compiled by Brand Finance and presented by Media Services. The accolade is shared by each of J&J’s brands which include Clean & Clear, Neutrogena, Listerine, Stayfree and Johnson’s Baby, the only baby care product which has been clinically proven to be mild and gentle.
The rankings were determined by a consumer survey which was conducted by Brand Finance PLC, the world’s leading brand valuation consultancy, which has performed thousands of branded business, brand and intangible asset valuations worth trillions of dollars.
Johnson’s Baby Sri Lanka launched its first completely local campaign in 2011 and continues to build on this initiative to date.The creativity and innovation of the brand was recognizedat the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards 2012 where Johnson’s Baby was presented with the Bronze Award for Best International Brand. It went on to be awarded a Bronze at the Effies, that very same year, for its local campaign on “Celebrating the Joys of Motherhood”.
Johnson’s Baby has been particularly active in the sphere of social media. Its Facebook page has over 54,000 fans, making it the current largest baby care product fan page in Sri Lanka. The Happy Snappy campaign’s social media extension was shortlisted for the global Facebook Studio Awards in 2012, where it represented Sri Lanka, out of over 1000 entries.
