The Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha members who opposed me will not receive their nomination papers, Public Relations Minister Mervyn Silva stated as there is no existence for members who work against the UPFA Kelaniya organizer.

He stated that the President’s philosophy is that any member of the Alliance that chooses to work against the party can leave and join another party while the door is always open for anyone who wants to work together with the alliance as well. Minister Silva added that he employs this philosophy as well and has left the door open for anyone who doesn’t want to work with him to join another political party.

The Minister stated this at a press conference held today (July 12) after meeting with the parents of D. Pavithra Hansani from the Kelaniya Gurukula Vidyalaya, who won the silver medal at the 400X4m women’s race at the 15th Asian Youth Games. The Minister pledged to finance all of the young student’s educational expenses.

He further alleged that the Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha was hindering his development work in the area but vowed to continue the development using his personal funds.
