Pandals that light up Vesak…
May 6, 2012
In addition to the multicolored light bulbs and lanterns that lit up every street and corner of Sri Lanka yesterday (May 05) a variety of pandals were also displayed for the public in various part of the country. Vesak pandals (Thorana) are set up during the Vesak festival, with illuminated panels illustrated with episodes from the life of the Gautama Buddha. Pictured here crowds gathering near the pandals in Grandpass, Thotalanga and the Nawaloka Vesak Pandal at Negombo Road, Peliyagoda. (Pic by Sanjeewa Lasantha)
