The Buddhist monks who surrendered to police yesterday over Pepiliyana incident being escorted to the Gangodawila Magistrate’s Court today (02). The identification scheduled for today was not held as both parties related to the incident had agreed to settle the case. All 17 suspects arrested in connection were subsequently warned and released by the Magistrate. A violent mob on Thursday (March 28) night had stoned and later set fire to a store and warehouse in Pepiliyana, causing severe damage to property and injuring at least three people.
