‘Defence Seminar - 2014,’ the year’s flagship project of the Sri Lanka Army, inaugurated its sessions Monday (18) morning at Colombo Galadari Hotel, together with a host of foreign and local delegates. The three-day seminar, themed on ‘Sri Lanka: Challenges to a Rising Nation’ on the directions of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, is to be addressed by more than 20 guest speakers of international reputation and recognition. More than 350 delegates representing over 55 countries, including ambassadors and diplomats are expected to participate in the sessions. Treasury Secretary P.B. Jayasundera and External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris were among those who addressed gathering while BJP leader Subramanian Swamy also attended the seminar.
