108 couples married at same time in Jaffna…

A total of 108 couples from the Jaffna district, who were preparing to get married, were united in marriage at the Selva Sannithi Murugan Kovil in Jaffna yesterday (28) at the same auspicious time. The couples, predominantly from low-income families, participated in the traditional Hindu ritual of tying the ‘Thalla’, marking their marriage according to customary practices. The ceremony brought together couples from 15 Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the Jaffna district, all following Hindu rituals at the same temple.
