Public Relations and Public Affairs Minister Mervyn Silva took it upon himself to release the animals prepared to be sacrificed at the Sri Bhadra Kali Amman Kovil in Munneswaram, Chilaw today (September 13). Following the court order temporarily suspending the annual ritual, Minister Silva stated he would personally transport the animals to animal farms. (Pic by Jude Samantha)
