Ex-storekeeper arrested over theft of liquor bottles from Hulftsdorp Court

A former storekeeper of the Hulftsdorp Court complex has been arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) in connection with the disappearance of foreign liquor bottles worth around Rs. 20 million from the court’s storage facility.

The individual has been remanded until July 16 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate, said Ada Derana reporter.

Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe had revealed this incident in the Parliament recently where he further claimed that according to the forensic report, the door of the store room had been opened with the appropriate key before the theft was committed.
