SLFP will put forward a candidate for Presidential Election - Maithripala

Former President Maithripala Sirisena says that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will put forward a candidate for the upcoming Presidential Election and that a candidate has already been selected.

He made these remarks in response to questions from journalists following an event held in Colombo yesterday (16).

The former President also emphasized that the Presidential Election must be held as scheduled and that it cannot be postponed under any circumstances.

He warned that if there is an attempt to postpone the election, it could lead to possible bloodshed in the country.
