Woman arrested for drug trafficking targeting schoolchildren

The Police Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a woman involved in trafficking intoxicating pills targeting schoolchildren.

The arrest was made during a special raid carried out based on a tip-off received by the officers of Gonahena Police STF camp, the police said.

The 44-year-old woman, a resident of the Webada area, was in the possession of 230 intoxicating pills intended for sale to schoolchildren at the time of the arrest, according to police.

The suspect has been handed over to the Kadawatha Police for further investigation.
