Ex-President Ranil decides not to contest General Election

The United National Party (UNP) says that former President Ranil Wickremesinghe will not contest the upcoming General Election.

The Deputy Leader of the UNP, Ruwan Wijewardena also stated that Wickremesinghe does not expect to enter Parliament through the National List.
