President holds talks with IMF team for second day

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has engaged in a discussion with the visiting International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation at the Presidential Secretariat for the second day today (04).

The President’s Media Division (PMD) said that the discussions were attended by Director of the IMF’s Asia Pacific Department Krishna Srinivasan, Senior Mission Chief Dr. Peter Breuer, along with other senior IMF representatives and the Sri Lankan delegation. 

President Dissanayake aims to achieve the objectives of the program in partnership with the IMF, seeking alternative approaches that will alleviate the burden on the citizens, the PMD added.

The President had also met with the visiting high-level IMF delegation yesterday while it was also attended by the Central Bank Governor Dr.Nandalal Weerasinghe, Secretary to the Treasury Mr. Mahinda Siriwardena, Dr. Harshana Sooriyapperuma, Senior Advisors to the President Prof. Anil Jayantha and Mr. Duminda Hulangamuwa.
