TV Derana and Ada Derana honored with ‘Abhiman’ Awards for digital presence

Sri Lanka’s premium entertainment channel, TV Derana, and its news arm, Ada Derana, garnered top honors at the “Abhiman” Awards 2024, organized by the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya. 

 

Held at the Faculty of Computing and Technology Auditorium of the Kelaniya University on Monday (11), the event recognized the most influential digital content creators in Sri Lanka.

 

TV Derana clinched the award for Most Popular TV Channel on YouTube, reflecting its dominant presence and engagement on the platform, while Ada Derana secured the award for Most Popular News YouTube Channel, underlining its significant role in digital news media.

 

Adding to the night’s highlights, musician Suneera Sumanga, the winner of Derana Dream Star Season 7, received the Most Popular Cover Song on YouTube award for his song “Santhana Susum”. 

 

Meanwhile, Kanchana Anuradhi was recognized as the Most Popular Female Singer on YouTube, with the iconic duo Bathiya and Santhush honored as the Most Popular Singer on YouTube.

 

In other categories, Dinesh Muthugala was awarded as the Most Popular Teacher on YouTube.

 

Additionally, popular actress Shanudrie Priyasad secured the awards for Most Popular Personality on Facebook, Instagram, and Vlogs.

 

Furthermore, Vini Productions was awarded at the ceremony for the Most Popular Comedy Channel on YouTube.
