The decision to establish a new office complex in the Parliament is a decision made by the government and there is no complication in it, says Prime Minister D.M Jayaratne.
In response to a question made by the opposition leader Ranil Wickramasinghe at Parliament today he added that a cabinet paper has also been presented in regard.
Mr. Wickramasinghe had queried as to whether a cabinet decision had been made to establish a new parliamentary office complex.
If such a decision has been made then it should receive the approval of the party leaders and no such approval was given at the Party Leaders Meeting, he expressed to the Parliament.
Ranil Wickramasinghe further said that he had found out about the matter when he had read about it in a newspaper. Not inquiring the opinion of other party leaders on such matters is contrary to tradition he added.
