The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress will announce its official support to the Government at the next parliament session, SLMC Chairman Basheer Segu Dawood told Ada Derana today.

He added that the party was due to make the announcement yesterday and officially crossover and sit with the government however due to the SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem being unable to attend parliament it was delayed.

The SLMC currently has 8 MPs and Dawood added that the decision to support the government was taken few days back yet due to discussions on the allocation of seats the crossover was delayed. He added that the issue regarding allocating Hakeem a front row seat was also settled.
