Party leaders’ meeting to discuss US tariff impact begins

The meeting of political party leaders to discuss the impact of US trade tariffs on Sri Lanka has commenced at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo, headed by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, a short while ago.
The Head of State had agreed to a meeting with all party leaders for a discussion, as per requests made by 12 opposition party leaders to meet the President to discuss the issue.
The meeting was attended by Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa, MP Harsha de Silva representing Samagi Jana Balawegaya, MP S. Rasamanickam from Tamil National Alliance, MP Ravi Karunanayake from New Democratic Front, MP D.V. Chanaka from Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, MPs Mano Ganesan and Palani Digambaram from Tamil Progressive Alliance, MP M.L.A.M. Hizbullah from Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, MP Rishad Bathiudeen from All Ceylon Makkal Congress, MP Dilith Jayaweera from Sarvajana Balaya Alliance, MP Jeevan Thondaman from United National Party, MP Dayasiri Jayasekara from Sri Lanka Freedom Party and MP A. Archuna representing 17 Independent Groups. Additionally, MPs Gayantha Karunathilaka, Kavinda Jayawardena, S.M. Marikkar and Kader Masthan attended the meeting.
