The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) is now attempting to use former Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva to lead them as their next leader, says Nava Sihala Urumaya leader Sarath Manamendra.

Speaking at a press conference held yesterday he stated that the JVP is prepared to use and abandon Sarath N. Silva, who was once a distinguished Chief Justice just as they did to the distinguished Army Chief, Sarath Fonseka.

Nothing has been revealed about the 80 million rupees, which Anura Kumara Disanayake and the group received as funds from the public during their recent foreign tour, Manamendra accused.

He emphasized that not even a small portion of that money has been placed in the treasury or the bank account of the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) or handed over to any other person for that matter.

“Are you attempting to revive the terrorism which had ended with ‘Gal Katas’, using T-56 guns?” Sarath Manamendra questioned the JVP.

The former DNA Executive Committee member also added that he has no intentions of crossing over to the government.
