Nava Sihala Urumaya leader Sarath Manamendra questions the JVP, whether they will take necessary measures to expel the National list parliamentarian of the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) Tiran Alles from the party.

Speaking to Ada Derana he said that he is querying on the matter due to a national newspaper today publishing an article stating that Tiran Alles had donated Rs.5 million to UNP MP Sajith Premadasa’s ‘Jana Suwaya’ project, from the businessman’s decentralized budget funds.

Sarath Manamendra recalled that the party’s General Secretary Vijitha Herath had previously issued a statement that Mr. Manamendra had told Tiran Alles and Executive Committee member Jayantha Ketagoda that he was faced with severe economic and personal problems and that he intended to support the Government or the UNP.

Vijitha Herath had stated that it was against the principles and objectives of the Democratic National Alliance.

“Is this act by Tiran Alles, the chairman of the party, not contradictory to the alliance’s principles and objectives?” the former DNA Executive Committee member questioned.
