(UPDATE): The former Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha member, who sustained injuries in a shooting incident in Meegoda earlier today has succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.

A former Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha member has sustained injuries in a shooting incident in Meegoda, Police stated.

The 46-year-old councilor has been hospitalized following the incident.
