Man shot dead near Thun Bodhiya bridge in Bandaragama

An individual has been shot dead in a shooting incident reported at around 6:00 p.m. today (21) near the Thun Bodhiya Bridge in Bandaragama, police stated.

Police noted that an unidentified gunman opened fire targeting a person inside a motor vehicle.

The individual in the vehicle died at the scene as a result of the shooting, police confirmed.

The identity of the deceased person has not yet been revealed.

Police further stated that the shooting was carried out using a T-56 firearm and that more than 20 shots were fired targeting the victim.

Further investigations are underway.
