Anuradhapura budget defeated for second time

The Anuradhapura Municipal Council budget was defeated for the second time today (January 03). It has been reported that a Municipal Council member belonging to the government party had also voted against the budget resulting in the defeat.
It was revealed that there had been seven votes against the budget including the vote of UPFA member Anuruddhika Dissanayake. Three UNP members and three from the JVP had also voted against while six government MC members voted for.
The Anuradhapura Municipal Council budget was defeated for the first time on December 20 with the United National Party (UNP) and the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) voting against it.
