Landslide warnings extended for 11 districts

Early landslide warnings issued by the National Building and Research Organisation (NBRO) for multiple areas in eleven districts have been extended, as heavy rainfall continues across parts of the island.

Accordingly, a Level 2 (Amber) warning was issued for several areas in the Kandy, Kegalle and Matale districts are as follows: 

Kandy District: Udunuwara and Ududumbara Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas 

Kegalle District: Yatiyanthota and Bulathkohupitiya Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas 

Matale District: Pallepola and Ambanganga Korale Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas

Meanwhile, a Level 1 (Yellow) warning has been issued for several areas in the following districts:

Badulla District: Haldummulla and Uva Paranagama Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas 

Galle District: Neluwa Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas

Gampaha District: Attanagalla Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas

Kandy District: Delthota and Doluwa Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas

Kegalle District: Mawanella, Ruwanwella, Aranayaka and Rambukkana Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas 

Kurunegala District: Alawwa and Ridigama Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas

Matale District: Raththota, Ukuwela, Yatawaththa Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas 

Matara District: Pitabaddara Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas

Monaragela District: Madagama Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas

Nuwaraeliya District: Ambagamuwa, Haguranketha and Walapane Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas 

Ratnapura District: Kalawana, Imbulpe, Ehaliyagoda and Weligepola Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
