Green Chillies, Tomatoes, Gourd and Lady Fingers will not be sold in the Kelaniya area during the New Year as residents of the area will be pushed to growing these vegetables in their home gardens, Minister of Public Relations and Public Affairs Mervyn Silva stated.

He further added that this campaign will be enforced strictly in order to encourage people to be self-sufficient as vegetable prices increase due to bad weather conditions.
