Northern Railway Line to fully resume operations from Apr. 9

The Department of Railways has completed restoration work on the Northern Railway Line, which was damaged by Cyclone Ditwah last year.

Accordingly, train services are scheduled to resume operations from Colombo Fort to Kankesanthurai starting April 9, the Railway Department stated.

The Department noted that seat reservation facilities have also been made available from today (April 4) for intercity express trains operating from Mount Lavinia to Kankesanthurai at 5:15 a.m. daily, and from Kankesanthurai to Mount Lavinia at 1:50 p.m.
