Fonseka reveals plot to assassinate him

Sarath Fonseka says he is pleased on being able to deliver on his promises, to end the war within 03 years. Making a dock statement in the White Flag trial, the former Army Chief extended his respect to the brave soldiers that assisted in the war victory.


He also expressed that he does not regret losing his rank of General and his pension and added that he will never stop his struggle on behalf of the public.


Making his statement for the fifth day at the High Court, Foseka disclosed that he has received information from credible sources regarding a plot to assassinate him at his prison cell or while in the road.


My wife, daughters, son in law and even my relatives have received repeated death threats, he stated.


The three member trial-at-bar headed by High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundara then ordered that proceedings be postponed till tomorrow (June 01).
