Enjoining order regarding Fonseka’s defence extended

July 19, 2011   11:35 am

Colombo District Court today extended the enjoining order preventing the Sunday Leader newspaper from publishing derogatory articles against Senior Counsel Nalin Ladduwahetty who defended Sarath Fonseka in the White Flag case.

Attorneys raising objections on behalf of Sunday Leader Editor Frederica Jansz stated in court that the issued enjoining order was contrary to law.

However the attorneys representing Nalin Ladduwahetty affirmed that the issuing of the enjoining order was legal and therefore requested from court that it is extended.

The request was granted by the Colombo District Court which extended that enjoining order till August 02.
