Special ritual against those who prevented animal sacrifice

A special ritualistic ceremony was held at the Sri Bhadra Kali Amman Kovil in Munneswaram against those who prevented the annual animal sacrifice yesterday (September 13).
The annual animal sacrifice was scheduled to be held last morning despite the Chilaw Additional District Judge issuing an order suspending the sacrifice.
In protest of the ritual, Minister Mervyn Silva along with a group interrupted the ceremony and handed over the goats and chickens to the Chilaw police.
A special ritual was held at the Kovil last evening against this act.
