CID officer of ‘White Flag’ case charged with corruption

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today informed court that inquiries have commenced in to the affidavit filed charging the chief investigative officer, a CID Inspector, of the ‘White Flag’ case with corruption.


The affidavit had been submitted by Kamini Jayawardna from Ja-Ela, the plaintiff of a land dispute case, who claims that the Police Inspector in question had demanded 15 perches from the land in order to resolve the matter favorably.


The CID has notified the court that it wishes to take a deposition from the plaintiff in regard to the affidavit.


The Colombo Chief Magistrate Rashmi Singappuli therefore issued notice to the female to appear in court on October 13, Ada Derana court correspondent said.
