November 21, 2011   02:27 pm

UNP Members of Parliament staged a walkout in Parliament a short while ago during the reading of the budget proposal 2012, Ada Derana Parliament reporter confirms.

There was a tussle between back row MPs of the opposition and the government at Parliament during the reading prior to the walkout. However the situation was brought under control and the reading resumed.

Opposition MPs had been holding placards that read ‘This is a bucket not budget’ and ‘Shame’ which led to the tense situation within chambers.
