Former parliamentarian Tilak Karunaratne is to receive a top post at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Sri Lanka, sources stated.

Sources further claimed that Karunaratne has been approached to take up a senior position at the SEC.

However, when Ada Derana contacted Karunaratne, he declined to comment directly on the development but did not refute the claims totally.
