A member of the Rideegama Pradeshiya Sabha has allegedly been attacked by a Member of Parliament.

The PS member was abducted and assaulted by Kurunegala District MP Nimal Wijesinghe, claims Rideegama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Kumari Pallemulla.

She stated that the assaulted Pradeshiya Sabha member, of the ruling party, is currently receiving treatment at the Kurunegala Hospital.

However MP Nimal Wijesinghe, popularly known as Nilwala Wijesinghe, when inquired by Ada Derana regarding the accusations stated that he had not carried out such an attack.
