VIDEO: Two monks stabbed to death; four suspects in custody

Two Buddhist monks belonging to the Kotte Raja Maha Viharaya were stabbed to death in the temple premises last night.One of the monks had died soon after the incident while the other had died after being admitted to the hospital.

The Police have arrested four suspects following the event with the use of police dogs who sniffed out a group of construction workers at a building site in front of the temple.

The workers had been drinking at the time of the arrest while police had to prevent surrounding residents from assaulting the suspects.
