Galle Mayor’s house pelted by unknown group

The house of the Galle Mayor, Methsiri De Silva was stoned by an unknown group of people early this morning (March 23). No one has been injured in the incident while the Mayor suspects a disgruntled group of citizens to be behind the attack.

 

It was reported that the attack took place at around 12.50a.m.

 

The Mayor stated that he suspected that the attack was retaliation for the removal of several unauthorised shops.

 

The Galle police are conducting further inquiries.
