EXCLUSIVE: Australian authorities confirm arrival of Gunaratnam

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Australia confirmed that a 42 year old man from New South Wales who was reported missing in the region of Kiribathgoda was safe and well following a query made by Ada Derana as to whereabouts of Noel Mudalige.

 

A spokesperson of the Department of Foreign Affairs in Australia stated that the Australian High Commission in Colombo escorted the man to the airport and confirmed his departure from Sri Lanka.

 

 Australian authorities have thanked the police and other agencies in Sri Lanka for facilitating the man’s departure from Sri Lanka.

 

Consular Officers in Canberra have been liaising with the man’s family in Australia.

 

Furthermore, the Department stated that it is unable provide any further information on this matter due to its privacy obligations to its consular client.
