A woman charged with killing another woman at her home in Udawalpola, Kurunegala has been arrested by police today.

The deceased, a 44-year-old from Gampaha, was killed with a knife allegedly by her husband’s mistress.

It is said that the victim had confronted the suspect over the alleged affair with her husband and that a heated argument between the two had led to the murder.

The incident had occurred inside the suspect’s house.

The body has been placed at mortuary of the Kurunegala Hospital while the post mortem examination has not been concluded.

Kurunegala Police is conducting investigations.
