VIDEO: UPDATE: Two burnt female bodies found in Kahawatta

Two burnt female bodies were found early this morning (July 19) from a house in Kotaketana in Kahawatta, Police Media spokesman SP Ajith Rohana said.

 

The Police reported that they suspect that the victims were a 63 year old mother and her 32 year old daughter while a special CID team has been appointed to handle the investigation into the case.

 

The Coordinating Secretary of a prominent Cabinet Minister and Pradeshiya Sabha member was earlier arrested in connection to a murder of the mother and daughter in the Kahawatta, Kotaketana area.

 

Furthermore, a wave of female murders have taken place throughout the Kahawatta area.
