Power cuts to be imposed in certain areas from tomorrow

Due to a breakdown at Lakvijaya Coal Power Plant in Norochcholai and Kerawalapitiya Power Plant there is a shortfall of 400 MW, says the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).

Hence power cuts will be imposed in several areas from tomorrow (22), until operations at the power plants are restored, for around two hours in the morning and evening, CEB Chairman Wimaladharma Abhayawickrema stated.
