Doctors in the Central Province have launched a trade union action demanding the immediate arrest of the Central Province Minister of Health, the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) said.

They have resorted to union action in protest to the Health Minister of the province assaulting several doctors, says GMOA central committee member Dr. Naveen de Soysa.

Condemning the Provincial Health Minister’s actions as “disgustful,” he emphasized that doctors of all hospitals in the Central province will engage in the trade union action, until the Minister is arrested and charged.
