LTTE suspect at Vavuniya prison dies following assault

An LTTE suspect who was assaulted at the Vavuniya Prison and warded at the Ragama hospital died late last night (August 7) the Prisons Department stated. The suspect was in a coma at the time of his death.

Convener of the Civil Monitoring Commission, Mano Ganeshan stated that they hold the government responsible for the death of Dilrukshan Mariyadas branding it a murder.
