The 47th DA Rajapaksa commemorative ceremony was held at the Urban Council Auditorium in Tangalle today (Nov.07). President Mahinda Rajapaksa, First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa and other family members placed floral tributes at the foot of the statue of D.A. Rajapaksa situated in the heart of Tangalle town. Southern Provincial Council Chairman Somawansa Kodagoda and Mayor of Tangalle Anil Sellahendige garlanded the statue. Religious observances were conducted by Ven. Vitharandeniye GnanaratanaThera while Ven. Tangalle Gothama Thero delivered the sermon. (Pic by: Sudath Silva)
