Casey Affleck will get one of the lead roles in the historical adventure Race to the South Pole.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will be involved in the film’s production under Warner Bros.

Race to the South Pole will shed light on the historical race between Norway’s Roald Amundsen and Britain’s Robert Falcon Scott to plant their respective flags on the South Pole in the early years of the 20th century.

Casey Affleck is to play Scott, the British explorer who reach the South Pole just a month after Amundsen, discovering his rival’s flag there on January 17, 1912.
