Divi Neguma bill, Appropriation bill presented to Parliament

October 9, 2012   03:48 pm

The Divi Neguma bill and Appropriation bill 2013 were presented to Parliament a short while ago. The debate on the second reading of the Divi Neguma bill is currently in progress.

Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa had informed the Parliament today that the Governors of Provinces have informed the President that the Divi Neguma draft bill has been passed in all established Provincial Councils.

The Supreme Court last month ordered that the Draft Bill receive the approval of all Provincial Councils as it comes within their scope and therefore was forwarded to all established PCs for vote.
