The National Child Protection Authority’s (NCPA) Police Investigative Unit says it has identified 51 websites with pornographic content featuring Sri Lankan youth.

The NCPA’s special court located in Battaramulla has been requested to ban these sites. However the court had conducted an investigation under a request by the NCPA’s Police Investigative Unit.

The NCPA further states that the advice of the Attorney General’s Department has been sought for further action and a verdict regarding banning the sites will be given on October 31st accordingly.

Several of  these sites contained images and footage of school children in uniforms, while apart from the 51 main sites, there are about a 1000 similar websites linked to them which have been identified, the NCPA says.
