Former JVP Gampaha MP Anjani Umma who earlier crossed over to the Jathika Nidahas Peramuna (NFF) joined the UNP a short while ago.

Umma was given UNP membership today (October 31) at the Jathika Sevaka Sangama office in Colombo.

She was appointed to parliament after contesting as a JVP member under the UPFA in 2004.

She later joined the National Freedom Front (NFF) or Jathika Nidahas Peramuna under Minister Wimal Weerawansa when he broke away from the JVP.

However, she decided to join with the UNP to continue her political work.
