Bar Association to hold discussion with Speaker

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka says it’s hoping to meet and hold discussion with the Speaker of Parliament Chamal Rajapaksa regarding the present situation within the judiciary system.

Issues which have risen between the Executive and the Judiciary will be discussed with the Speaker, the Executive Committee of the BASL had decided yesterday.

Accordingly the matter is scheduled to be thoroughly discussed when the Bar Association’s Executive Committee gathers next Wednesday (Oct 07).

Meanwhile BASL Secretary Sanjeewa Gamage stated that the association’s General Assembly is to be held on October 10.
