The Chairman of the Rathgama Pradeshiya Sabha, Manoj Pushpakumara Mendis, was shot dead at a hotel in Hikkaduwa last night (23). The 37-year-old was rushed to the Karapitiya Hospital following the shooting which took place during a social gathering at the hotel. However, he had succumbed to injuries shortly after.
