A group of men who broke into a house with the intent of murdering a person in Boralesgamuwa over a dispute regarding a three-wheeler, have instead killed his mentally handicapped brother, police said.

The 22 year old youth was stabbed to death in Diwulapitiya in Borelasgamuwa at around 1.00am today.

Four persons, including a chief suspect, were arrested over the murder by the Borelesgamuwa Police.

During interrogation the suspects had confessed to killing and said they had mistakenly killed the man’s younger brother, as it was unable to recognize him in the dark while they were asleep.

All four suspects are said to be three-wheeler drivers while police also recovered the sharp knife used to commit the crime.
