Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake walked out of the Parliamentary Select Committee hearing citing lack of faith in the Committee.

The Parliamentary Select Committee was appointed to look into impeachment charges against the Chief Justice and commenced its hearings last month.

Bandaranayake, whose husband was also charged recently with corruption while holding a political appointment as the head of a state-owned bank, has denied the financial wrongdoing alleged in the impeachment.
