VIDEO: Assault attempt on Attorney Gunaratne Wanninayake

Attorney Gunaratne Wanninayake says four unidentified armed men had attempted to attack him and his vehicle near his residence in Boralesgamuwa today.
Wanninayake is a former Secretary of the UNP affiliated National Lawyers’ Association (NLA).
Boralesgamuwa Police have launched an investigation into the incident according to a complaint received by the 119 police emergency hotline at around 4.59pm today.
The complaint states that the attorney was returning home after work when four individuals had followed him and threatened him in front of his residence in Piriwena Road, Boralesgamuwa.
A team of Boralesgamuwa Police officers have been dispatched to the location and they are currently conducting investigations, the police spokesman’s office said.
