Four missing as boat capsizes in Tissa Wewa

Four persons are reported missing after a boat carrying 22 passengers capsized at the Tissa Wewa in Tissamaharama. Police said the remaining passengers have been rescued after the boat capsized at around 3.40pm today (22).

The group was returning from Kataragama when they had engaged in the boat trip in the Tissa Wewa.

Police said search operations have commenced to locate the four missing persons - all males.
